Shibaten was performing at Middle road. Who is he? I simply got no idea but I enjoyed his simple yet enchanting music. His kind of music has some Tibetian plus Australian Aboriginal accent into it. All his musical instrument was a long tube-like (similar to a alphorn), an african drum (Djembes) and bells strapped to his ankle. The music he performed would makes one felt like get up immediately & dance to it. I admired that he gotta have good lungs or diaphragm to produced the deep-long music notes. I managed to have a short chat with him. He was a friendly guy, who had travelled to Africa, Australia & several other countries. By the way, he was a japanese but his nationality seems to be an Australian. According to him, the musical instrument was passed down from his family back in Australia. He had created his music with his heart as told by him.
Oh well, how I envy him of breaking away from this worldly Cat & Rat game. Just travel around the world to do what you want instead of thinking how to meet one’s daily need, survive the office politics and the World’s hypocrisy way of doing things. Afterall, life is just that simple.
